Omah Stanley Didia, also known professionally as Omah Lay, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter from Port Harcourt. He is signed to KeyQaad and Sire Records, both of which are subsidiaries of Warner Music Group, and he also has a 5-track EP titled “Get Layd.”

Omah Lay is a Nigerian singer-songwriter best known for his hit songs “You” and “Bad Influence.” Omah Lay is well-known for the emotional tone and lyrical originality he incorporates into all of his works. He has been involved in music since he was a child, first as a rapper and subsequently as a producer in Port-Harcourt. Omah Lay was born in Port Harcourt and raised there. He spent his childhood at Igwuruta (a town in Ikwerre, Rivers State) and his adolescence at Marine Base, a Port Harcourt suburb.


He grew up in a musically minded family. Celestine Ukwu, his grandfather, was a famed vocalist of the late 1970s Highlife craze known for popular songs such as “Ijede,” “Ije Enu,” and “Money Palava.” Omah Lay’s father is likewise a percussionist in the same musical genre. Omah Lay began his music career in his early teens as a rapper under the stage name Lil King. In 2019, he began learning how to produce music. He thought he wasn’t getting enough credit for his work, so he decided to take the stage instead.
